Getting started
Pentire is a paint-by-stickers app for iPhone and iPad. It turns any photo — your pet, a portrait, a scene — or a picture from its built-in library into a relaxing sticker puzzle. The image becomes numbered outline slots plus a tray of stickers you peel, rotate, and place to rebuild the picture. It's calm, satisfying, and ASMR-style, with tunable difficulty and four art styles.
Paint by stickers is like paint by number, but tactile. Instead of filling regions with color, you complete a picture by placing pre-made sticker pieces. Pentire shows the picture as numbered outline slots and gives you a tray of matching stickers. You pick a sticker, rotate it to the correct angle, and drop it into its slot. When every slot is filled, the picture is complete. Learn more about paint by stickers →
No. You can download Pentire and start making puzzles without creating an account or signing in. There's no sign-up, no email required, and no profile to manage.
Pentire runs on iPhone and iPad with iOS 17 or iPadOS 17 and later. A reasonably recent device is recommended for the fastest on-device photo processing on the largest, most detailed puzzles.
Photos & privacy
Yes. Open the Create tab, choose From a Photo, pick any picture from your library or take a new one, pick an art style and difficulty, and Pentire turns it into numbered slots and a matching sticker tray. Pets, portraits, landscapes, screenshots, and kids' drawings all work. See how it works →
No. Pentire processes imported photos entirely on-device using on-device AI. Your photos are never uploaded, never sent to a server, and never leave your iPhone or iPad. Pentire only needs access to the specific photo you choose, and you can grant limited ("Selected Photos") access in iOS Settings. Read the full privacy policy →
Your puzzles, progress, and imported images are stored locally on your device. Pentire doesn't require an account and doesn't collect your photos. Any optional analytics are anonymous and aggregated. See the Privacy Policy for full details.
Yes. Once a puzzle is created it plays fully offline. Because photo import and processing also run on-device, you don't need an internet connection to import a photo or play a puzzle.
Playing & customizing
Every library puzzle opens with a difficulty chooser — five levels from Starter (12 big stickers, great for young children) to Expert (220 small pieces) — plus a piece-shape choice of natural cuts, polygons, or squares, with a live preview of exactly how the picture will be cut. When creating from a photo or generating art, you pick the same options before the puzzle is made.
Pentire offers four art styles: real photo (lifelike detail), cartoon (bold outlines and shapes), pastel (soft, muted tones), and flat paint-by-number (clean color blocks). Each style reshapes the same picture into a different puzzle and a different mood.
Pentire's built-in library has 60 original puzzles across six themes: space, ocean, food, farm, landscapes, and abstract. Every one is included free, opens instantly, and can be played at any difficulty and piece shape.
The big card at the top of the library. Every day Pentire spotlights one of its 60 built-in puzzles — the same pick for every player worldwide, rotating at midnight UTC. If you've already started it, the card offers to continue right where you left off.
While holding a sticker, twist with two fingers to rotate it, or double-tap to turn it 90°. Drag it near its matching numbered slot and, when the position and angle are close enough, it snaps into place with a gentle tap.
No. Pentire saves your progress automatically. You can leave a puzzle half-finished, close the app, and pick up exactly where you left off later.
Everything you make — generated art, photo puzzles, saved variations, and entered codes — lives in the Yours section at the top of the library. You can rename or delete any of them, and each reopens with the exact cut you saved.
Sticker Hop is Pentire's built-in mini-game: a die-cut sticker hops over blocks and slides under barriers while your puzzle is being cut, so even loading is fun. You can also play it any time from Settings → Just for Fun, and your high score is saved.
Yes. Open the in-game menu on any puzzle you generated and tap Share puzzle code. Pentire creates a tap-to-play link (and a short code) that carries the whole puzzle — the picture, difficulty, piece shape, and art style — so your friend plays the exact same puzzle you did. They can tap the link to open it straight in Pentire, or paste the code into Enter a code in the library.
If you have Pentire installed, tapping the link opens the shared puzzle straight away. Otherwise the link lands on a page with the code and a free download — install Pentire, then tap Enter a code at the top of the library and paste the code to play the exact same puzzle.
Yes. In Settings → Theme, tap any locked theme to preview it live across the whole app for a few seconds — the real thing, not a swatch — before Pentire Plus is offered. Your saved theme is untouched, and if you upgrade, your pick is remembered.
In Settings → While You Play, toggle Haptics and Sound effects independently. Both are on by default and kept deliberately gentle; sound also respects your device's silent switch.
Pricing
Yes — Pentire is free to download, with no ads and no account required. The free tier includes the full built-in puzzle library, on-demand art generation, your first photo puzzles, and shareable puzzle codes. An optional Pentire Plus upgrade — a one-time lifetime purchase or a monthly subscription — unlocks unlimited photo puzzles, every difficulty, piece shape, art style, and theme, plus unlimited saved puzzles.
One optional upgrade: Pentire Plus, available as a one-time lifetime purchase or a monthly auto-renewing subscription, processed by Apple through the App Store with the price shown before you buy. Everything you create stays yours — if a subscription ends, every puzzle you already made remains playable.
To restore on a new device, open the app's Settings and tap Restore Purchases while signed in with the same Apple Account. To manage or cancel the monthly subscription, use Settings → Manage Pentire Plus in the app, or iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions. You keep Plus until the end of the paid period, and everything you made stays playable after it ends.
Troubleshooting
Use a higher-resolution source photo and increase the difficulty to add more, smaller pieces for finer detail. Very dark, very busy, or low-resolution photos produce fewer usable pieces. Cropping to the subject before importing also improves results.
Make sure the sticker is rotated to roughly the correct angle and dragged close to its matching numbered slot — Pentire snaps the piece once it's near enough and oriented correctly. For small pieces, use the zoom slider to get in close, and tap Reference to peek at the finished picture.
Because processing runs on-device, the largest, most detailed puzzles take longer on older hardware. Try a slightly lower difficulty, close other apps, and make sure your device isn't in Low Power Mode. If import still fails, restart Pentire and try again.
